Andreas Hanson, born in 1969, grew up in a family with musical traditions. In Stockholm, he took music classes at the Adolf Fredrik Church, attended the Södra Latin School, and studied trumpet and conducting at the Royal College of Music. He also studied with Andrew Davis in London and Carlo Maria Giulini in Milan. Hanson has conducted a significant number of operas and has worked with many major artists. Since 1995, he has been teaching conducting and orchestral music at the Royal College of Music in Stockholm. As a recording artist, he has recorded nearly 20 records for BIS and Serpent.
