As a dedicated recitalist, mezzo-soprano Kindra Scharich has performed more than 250 art songs in 15 languages, and enjoys the full complement of recital, concert and opera engagements alike. She has also sung more than 40 roles from Monteverdi to Philip Glass, and has been engaged in a number of premières and new works, including: John Adam’s Antony & Cleopatra (San Francisco Opera), Bright Sheng’s Dream of the Red Chamber (San Francisco Opera), Laura Kaminsky’s Today it Rains (Opera Parallèle), and Missy Mazzoli’s Breaking the Waves (West Edge Opera, west coast première).

Ricardo Ballestero is a Brazilian pianist. He completed his master's degree at the Westminster Choir College under Dalton Baldwin, and his doctorate in accompaniment and chamber music at the University of Michigan under Martin Katz. Ballestero frequently appears in recitals, and has collaborated with such artists as Josepha Gayer, Luretta Bybee, Nicholas Phan and Erling Blondal-Bengtsson. He has performed regularly in New York, Philadelphia, Detroit, Denver, Princeton, São Paulo and Brasília. He was a visiting professor at the University of Colorado, where he taught diction for singers and vocal repertoire.
