Lyubomir Pipkov (September 6, 1904 – May 9, 1974) was a Bulgarian composer, pianist, and music educator. He is considered among the founders of Bulgaria's modern professional musical establishment and one of its most important composers. Pupil of Paul Dukas and Nadia Boulanger, Pipkov composed in a diverse array of genres, including three operas, four symphonies, and three string quartets, as well as various chamber music and piano works, oratorios, mass songs, and film scores. Aside from his work as a composer and teacher, Pipkov was also active as a poet, critic and representative for Bulgaria at international conferences.

Georgi Zlatev–Cherkin (1905–1977) was a student of Theo Lierhammer and Joseph Marx. He was lecturer at the State Academy of Music in Sofia (1929–36, 1938–44), rising to professorship, and becoming rector (1948–54) and a dean of the vocal faculty (1960–74). He has worked as vocal educator at the Conservatories in Beijing, Tianjin and Shanghai in China (1955–58). His students include famous Bulgarian singers, as well as Ljuba Welitsch, prima of the world opera stages. Zlatev–Cherkin is author of several operettas, many songs for voice with piano or orchestral accompaniment, choral works and chamber music.

Lora Al-Ahmad is a pianist and a composer from Sofia, Bulgaria. Al-Ahmad graduated with honors from Mannes College in New York City, where she studied piano Pavlina Dokovska and Vladimir Valjarevic, and composition with Lowell Liebermann. Al-Ahmad has had the privilege of performing in renowned venues across New York City. She has also given recitals in various locations throughout the United States. Al-Ahmad is a passionate advocate for new music, often with a particular focus on performing works by women composers. Her compositions are published by the Theodore Presser Company.
