Joseph Jongen (14 December 1873 – 12 July 1953) was a Belgian organist, composer, and music educator. From his teens to his seventies Jongen composed a great deal, including symphonies, concertos, chamber music and songs. In 1897, he won the Belgian Prix de Rome, which allowed him to travel to Italy, Germany and France. His list of opus numbers eventually reached 241, but he destroyed a good many pieces. His monumental Symphonie Concertante of 1926 is considered by many to be among the greatest works ever written for organ and orchestra, being championed and recorded by numerous eminent organists.

Arthur De Greef (10 October 1862 – 29 August 1940) was a Belgian pianist and composer. He studied with Louis Brassin, Joseph Dupont, François-Auguste Gevaert and Fernand Kufferath at the Brussels Conservatoire. After graduating at the age of 17, De Greef went to Weimar to study under Franz Liszt for two years. After Weimar, De Greef embarked on a career as a concert pianist, travelling widely. Edvard Grieg called him "the best performer of my music I have met with". De Greef composed a sizeable quantity of music, include two piano concertos. He was a devoted teacher at the Brussels Conservatoire for many years.

Virgil Fox (May 3, 1912 in Princeton, Illinois – October 25, 1980 in Palm Beach, Florida) was an American organist, known especially for his flamboyant "Heavy Organ" concerts of the music of Bach. His many recordings made on the RCA Victor and Capitol labels, mostly in the 1950s and 1960s, have been remastered and re-released on compact disc in recent years. Fox was one of the rare organists to perform on nationally televised entertainment programs in the 1960s and 1970s. Many organists, however, have strongly criticized Fox for his unconventional interpretations of classical organ music.

Jean-Claude Vanden Eynden (born 1948 in Brussels) is a pianist Belgian. At a very young age he became a student at the Brussels Conservatory where his teacher was Eduardo Del Pueyo. At 16 he won the third prize of the 1964 Queen Elisabeth Competition. His discography is very diverse with Edvard Grieg's and Arthur De  Greef's  piano concertos, Guillaume Lekeu's violin sonata (with Philippe Hirshorn) and Johannes Brahms' sonatas and trio for clarinet (with Walter Boeykens). Vanden Eynden is a regular jury member for the Queen Elizabeth Competition as well as other major international competitions.
